It’s great being a RE/MAX agent in a small town. I love helping neighbors find exactly what they need to make them feel at home, and the fact that these are the same neighbors that I see in our schools, our churches, and our ball games, adds to my pleasure. Here at RE/MAX of Sitka, we don’t just sell homes, we build relationships.
I received my Real Estate License in July, 1988, and have been actively listing and selling residences, lots, and island property in the Southeast Alaska ever since. |
"Welcome Home Realty," was opened in 1996 and I purchased the RE/MAX of Sitka franchise rights in 1998.
Southeast Alaska has been home most of my life. When I was born in 1951, my parents, Bob and Barbara were living in the fishing community of Kalinin Bay on the North end of Kruzof Island (approximately 25 nautical miles to the northeast of Sitka).
Our family traveled throughout Southeast Alaska during my grade school and high school years. I received my Associate in Arts degree at Sheldon Jackson College in Sitka, while living at the Sitka Fire Department and volunteering as an air-pack man. I then transferred to the University of Alaska in Fairbanks, where I majored in fire prevention engineering, with a second in elementary education (neither of which I've had the opportunity to use).

In the spring of 1977, I fell in love with a beautiful young nurse, named Jackie White. We were married that winter at St. Gregory’s Catholic Church in Sitka. Myself and Jackie, along with our children, Andrew (born in 1979), and Rebecca (born in 1980), and new to us, Golden Doodle, Bella, enjoy camping, boating, and whale-watching.
Andrew and I fish and hunt at every opportunity and As an Alaska Marine Safety Education Instructor, I also enjoy volunteering three weekends every summer to teach survival to young people at a private fish harvesting camp.
Thank you for allowing me to be of service to you and I look forward to meeting you!
